It's important to note that the PEP is not intended to replace industry-specific "skills" testing or psychological evaluations. Instead, it serves as a guide for backgrounding officers, highlighting areas of potential weakness in an individual's character. The PEP contributes to the fundamental structure of your hiring process by evaluating all applicants—whether in sworn law enforcement, correctional/detention roles, communications, CSOs, administrative positions, records, technicians, fleet maintenance, and more—using the same set of questions in a standardized manner.
